I am relatively new to ML. With the older eyes I changed the iron sights on the Lyman Great Plains rifle to the Lyman fiber optic sights. The rear hi vis green are ok but the front red is no better than the old iron sight. Was wondering if possible to take out the red fiber optic rod and replace with a green hi vis rod piece.That bullet had a Muzzle Velocity of 1058 and 1407 ft/lb of energy. I am familiar with both and dislike the architecture of almost all TWM offerings. The web of wood separating the barrel from the ramrod channel is too thick creating a clunky appearance usually with the ramrod hanging below the muzzle cap.Corn meal - At our last muzzle loading trap shoot one said he was using corn meal instead of cushion wads.
