A healthy 038 mag will pull a 28" bar and full comp chain in soft wood no problem. Hard wood will slow it down a little, just like any other saw. I run a 28" light bar and RS chain on mine. Got another with a 20" bar EXL chain and 8 pin rim sprocket.I never had a 450 but I did have a 520sp and the 450 appears to be a even smaller version of it. That said, no way would I want one. The thing is a joke the way its put together. I drained the tank completely, washed it out 3 times, first with turps, then degreaser, then preparation solvent. I dried it with compressed air, then preheated it. Prep is critical to success if you are going to glue. I keyed the surface lightly with some 80 grit sandpaper then glued.This is how it works on cable driven tachometers on tractors. So to put 2000 hours on a chainsaw it would have to run at its rated RPM for 2000 hours. I figure a chainsaws rated RPM is full throttle.
